In 2017 mobile traffic surpassed desktop traffic for a majority of users.

I start each project with a responsive first mentality. Whether it’s my design, or from the imagination of a colleague, I make sure that mobile and tablet are accounted for first.

This process of scaling mobile up (as opposed to scaling desktop down) makes development a breeze and puts user experience above all.

I’m a developer/designer/father/husband/brother.

I have 5+ years of development experience and am a grad of the BCIT School of Business Web Development Program.

This experience coupled with a decade of managing businesses in the fast paced and ever-changing hospitality field, means I know how to budget, plan, and execute my time to the fullest. I’m also experienced with and enjoy working in teams of all sizes.

We’ve all heard the saying “use the right tool for the job.” But what if that tool doesn’t exist?

You build it. This project has spanned my entire history with javascript. It started as a quick and dirty jquery build. I then took that tool and recreated it using es6 classes and indexedDB. Once I reached my limitations with using only node and es6 I decided to use this tool as a way to teach myself React. Now we have a Single Page Application that is ready to use.

Always a work in progress, this tool has been my sandbox for learning everything I can about data management in javascript.

A custom theme built during my time at Colony Digital. This theme was built in conjunction with a small team consisting of developers, digital marketing specialists, and designers.

With the wonder of Advanced Custom Fields the site admin has full customization abilities.

Wild Empathy is an ongoing installation piece at Emily Carr. This project was built by working closely with the client’s chosen graphic designer. By communicating through the InVision app I was able to build this child theme to the designer’s exact specifications.
